Jacob with Lurie-Houghton Telescope
Primary Cell Mounting Ring
Here's my son Jacob with the mounting ring that will hold the primary mirror
cell or mount. The three holes around the edge of the ring are threaded and
are part of the primary collimation adjuster. The
mounting ring will be bolted
to the inside of the telescope tube near its
back end. The plate or yoke that the mirror
will be glued to will be bolted to the mounting ring with a push-pull
collimation bolt setup. My friend Cullen Bennett
machined this for me in his home based machine shop. This photo was taken 6 April
1999 with an Olympus D-600L digital camera.
