I'm making even better photographs of Saturn. I took this through my homemade Lurie-Houghton telescope the evening of 7 February 2002. The seeing was pretty good that night. I used my new Philips ToUcam Pro web-cam type of camera along with a 2" Vernonscope 2.4X barlow lens and a 1.25" Meade 2X short barlow. The Lurie-Houghton's focal length and f-ratio is 1154mm at f/4.63. The complete setup is like using a 5540mm f/22.2 lens. I used AstroStack to average about 150 exposures together and to apply some unsharp masking and deconvolution. Photograph by Rick Scott.
