The Large Binocular Telescope aka LBT is large! It uses two 8.4 meter diameter mirrors on a single altitude-azimuth (alt-az) mount. The entire upper part of the building rotates in azimuth along with the telescope. When I visited the site when this photograph was taken, only one mirror was installed in the telescope and the second mirror was in the observatory shop being prepared for installation.
