My wife and I were exploring one weekend and came across a large boulder in a mining area that was painted with the words "The Murals 1.3 miles". There was an arrow that pointed toward a dirt road so we decided to check it out. We were quite surprised when we got to the murals. They were brightly painted and huge, nothing like what we expected, although I don't know what we expected. The murals were painted by Roy Purcell in 1966. He came back 40 years later (2006) and repainted them with a higher quality paint so they look great.
