One day, when I was still living in LA, my friend Joe Orman and I decided to go photographing at Century City. We started at the front and worked our way toward the towers. The sky was a nice dark blue, which is fairly rare in LA, and the towers looked so nice against it. I lied down on the ground to make it easy to shoot straight up. As I was preparing to take this photograph, a security guard came by telling us that we needed a permit to photograph there. Joe distracted the guard telling him we didn't know about that, which gave me the chance to get this one last shot off before we had to pack up the cameras. I scanned the image with a Nikon Coolscan LS-10 and used Adobe Photoshop to apply color correction and sharpening. Photograph by Rick Scott.
