The Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in southern Utah has many interesting places to visit. The park encompasses a series of large steps and terraces in the landscape, rising from the Colorado plateau up to Bryce Canyon National Park. Metate Arch, shown in this photograph is in an area with a large collection of hoodoos, arches, bridges and small spires.
