Zoe and Secondary Sleeve Parts
My daughter Zoe is admiring the secondary sleeve parts that are used to hold
the secondary mirror assembly to the
front lens of the corrector. Holes
for two set screws in the side of the sleeve are visible. They are used so I
could slide and rotate the mirror along and around the optical axis. These
parts were made by my friend Cullen Bennett in his home based machine shop.
Cullen and I climbed a learning curve in the making of the fine threads for
the large retaining nut. This photo was taken 9 December 1999 with an Olympus
D-600L digital camera.
