Lightning Strikes over Phoenix, AZ

PHOTO

I went to the desert outside of Phoenix, Arizona one evening to photograph a planetary conjunction while a lightning storm was going on. The sky was clear to the west which allowed me to photograph the planets, but was stormy in all other directions. I was treated to a partial rainbow a little before the sun had set and the lightning continued for hours. This photograph is a composite of twelve photographs taken during a four-and-a-half minute period looking toward the east side of Phoenix.
