San Fransisco de Asis Church, Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico

San Fransisco de Asis Church, located in the heart of Ranchos de Taos in New Mexico, has been photographed and painted by artistic giants as Ansel Adams and Georgia O'Keeffe. The church has unique architectural features, the most prominent being the large buttresses in the rear and corners of the building and the massive buttresses on either side of the front door. Construction of the church ran from 1772 through 1815 by Franciscan Fathers.
