Old Boots

PHOTO

When I first get any new camera, I spend time just playing with it to learn how it works and responds to light. This photograph of my old boots is a result of that experimenting. The texture in the leather and laces along with the warm color of the subject makes for a pleasing "Old World" look.

I used my Canon EOS 20D digital camera for this photograph, which I only had for one day at that point. The exposure was 1/25 of a second at f/4.0 with the camera set for ISO 100 in highest quality JPEG mode. The lens was a Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM at the 33mm position. I was trying to get as close as I could hand held for this photograph. I used Adobe Photoshop CS for image processing. Photograph by Rick Scott.
