Chia Blossom at Joshua Tree National Park

PHOTO

If you like the desert, then Joshua Tree National Park is one of those must visit more than once kind of places. This beautiful park has both low and high elevation desert with a large variety of landscape and desert life to enjoy. I was exploring Cottonwood wash in the southern part of the park with my children when we came upon these interesting Chia blossoms. They are about one inch in diameter across the tips of the spikes, thus the purple flowers are very small and delicate.
