Tonto Natural Bridge

PHOTO

Tonto Natural Bridge, near Payson, Arizona, is a natural wonder well worth the visit. It's a huge travertine dam in which Pine Creek eroded a tunnel through. As shown in this photograph, there is a waterfall that flows from the top of the bridge. At the bottom of the waterfall is miniature eco-system with abundant moss and ferns. You can hike through the entire length of the tunnel and the creek outside of the tunnel is a beautiful place unto itself, especially on the the north side.
