Sand. Lots of sand is located in California. This sand dune is part of the large Algodones Sand Dunes in south eastern California. Some people refer to them as the Yuma Sand Dunes because they're not too far from Yuma, Arizona. Part of the area is used for playing with off-road vehicles and the rest is set aside for protection. This photograph is of a very small portion of the protected area. I used my Olympus OM-3 35mm film camera with Kodachrome 64 transparency film to take this photograph. Photograph by Rick Scott.
