Panamint Mountains and Clouds above Death Valley

PHOTO

Death Valley is one of my favorite places on planet Earth. My family and I went there for a few days prior to the beginning of 2004 for a short vacation after not going there for about seven years. My kids had a great time exploring canyons, salt flats, ghost towns and mine ruins. The weather varied from clear to overcast which produced a variety of interesting cloud patterns. I took this photograph close to sunset with the sunlight illuminating the clouds from a low angle behind them. If you look carefully you'll see a couple of light shafts cutting diagonally across the photo. I used my Minolta DiMAGE A1 digital camera for this photograph. Photograph by Rick Scott.
