Lurie-Houghton Telescope
Secondary Retaining Nut on Lathe

PHOTO: Secondary Retaining Nut on Lathe
The machined parts for the telescope were made with the help of my friend Cullen Bennett in his home based machine shop. The secondary sleeve assembly, which is used to attach the secondary mirror assembly to the corrector was the first part we made. We did this so we could verify that it fit correctly in the hole of the lens blank. This photo was taken 20 November 1999 with an Olympus D-600L digital camera.
