Lurie-Houghton Telescope
Primary Cell Mounting Ring

PHOTO: Primary Cell Mounting Ring
Here's a close up photo of the primary mirror mount mounting ring. The primary collimation bolts will go through the three holes around the edge of the ring. The mounting ring will be bolted to the inside of the telescope tube using the threaded holes that can be seen around the edge of the ring. The plate or yoke that the mirror will be glued to will be bolted to the mounting ring with a push-pull collimation bolt setup. My friend Cullen Bennett machined this for me in his home based machine shop. This photo was taken 6 April 1999 with an Olympus D-600L digital camera.
